PM Anthony Albanese following some giant footsteps along the Great Wall of China next to graffiti that says, ‘Gough was here.’

Labor Opposition Leader Gough Whitlam’s historic first trip to China in 1971 opened diplomatic relations between China and Australia, at a time when the Cold War was threatening global stability. Prime Minister Albanese made his own China trip in July, following in Whitlam’s sizeable footsteps.
