In May 2025 there were significant floods across New South Wales, particularly in the Mid NorthCoast and Hunter regions. Between Woolgoolgaand Forster on the Mid North Coast, a span of almost 300 kilometres, 5,000 homes and businesses experienced power outages, around 100 schools were closed, and five lives were lost.
