How to Really End the War

The first panel shows a protest on the Sydney Harbour Bridge titled, 'How to end the war in Gaza.' Second panel titled 'How to really end the war in Gaza', shows a Hamas soldier with bloody hands releasing an Israeli hostage saying, 'You can go home now.'

On 3 August over 90,000 people marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge in an event organised by the Palestinian Action Group. The group said the protest was intended to pressure Australia to sanction Israel, to stop the arms trade with Israel, to have aid allowed to enter Gaza and to press for a ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal. The day before the protest, Hamas had released a video of emaciated Israeli hostage Evyatar David. Peter Wertheim, Co-CEO of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, noted that none of the protesters had called for the release of the remaining Israeli hostages.
