Dread

Two people sit at a table, the black edges of the panel crowd them into a tiny space. A quote reads, 'What I initially thought was the shortest day of the year, is in fact an encroaching sense of existential dread.'

In June the east coast of Australia shivered through its coldest minimum temperatures in over a decade. But maybe this cartoon was right, and the malaise these characters felt during the winter solstice was due to more than just the lack of warmth and light. Perhaps it’s also the nature of the news they are reading that’s left them with a general sense of uncertainty and fear about the state of the world.
