In June Donald Trump called off a scheduled meeting with Anthony Albanese via social media. Albanese had spent seven months preparing for a sit-down with the US president during his trip to Canada to attend the G7. The two had much to discuss, from tariffs to AUKUS. A meeting eventually did take place in Washington in October.
