Dutton Nuclear Bomb

A First Dog on the Moon comic explains Coalition policies on nuclear power through small Australian animals. Former Liberal leader Peter Dutton had a plan for many nuclear power plants. First Dog says this means we will never hit our 2050 climate change targets, he ends with 'Thank goodness for preferential voting.'

In February the Climate Change Authority modelled the possible effects of the Coalition’s plan to build seven nuclear power plants and concluded that it could result in an additional 2 billion tons of carbon emissions by 2050. ‘What’s clear’, said the authority’s chair, Matt Kean, ‘is that under the Coalition’s nuclear plan it will be virtually impossible to meet their own commitment of net zero by 2050.’
