Volunteers lead more than 1400 guided tours through Old Parliament House each year. 

They share their knowledge and passion of the people, events and objects of Old Parliament House and help visitors understand the value and meaning of democracy.

What skills do volunteers need?  

• comfortable speaking in public and conducting tours
• enjoy engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds
• good customer service skills
• willingness to collaborate

Training and time commitment 

• You need to be 18 years and over to apply to our volunteer program.
• We ask successful volunteers to commit to a 3-hour shift every fortnight.
