Onsite experience

Cost

$7 per student, accompanying teachers free

This outdoors program connects students with significant places in the Parliamentary Triangle. Our educators will introduce the activity and complete a wrap up, while teachers lead students around the exterior of the building to explore different significant sites.

Students will pause to think about why places are considered significant in their community, who they are significant to and reflect on how they can be cared for.

Using a map and inquiry questions, students will:

  • participate in a walking trail around the outside of Old Parliament House
  • explore the building's connection to other significant sites, including the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Australian Parliament House and the Australian War Memorial
  • use symbols to create a map of the sites they've seen.

Responsibility for supervision and guidance during the visit is with the accompanying adults.
