In celebration of World Read Aloud Day, join us for the inaugural Canberra Great Celebrity Read Off at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House. Joyously delivered in collaboration with ABC Canberra Afternoons Book Corner with Alice Matthews and Rhian Williams.
We are excited to welcome a collection of celebrities to read their favourite Australian picture books:
- Dr Chloe Lim - scientist and balloon artist
- Ruth Pieloor (Dr Whoops) - clown doctor
- Tahalianna Soward-Mahanga - singer
- Vanessa Low - world para athletic champion T63 long jump
- David Pocock - past Wallabies captain / ACT Senator
- Carlo Ritchie - Play School writer
- Robert de Castella - Olympic marathon runner
- Simon Weir - penny farthing rider
We look forward to celebrating the importance of reading with you and welcome participants to come dressed as their favourite book characters.
This event will be held in the Senate Courtyard. Please enter through the main doors and staff will direct you.
