Expecting the Unexpected

For most people the shocks of 2020 came out of the blue. True, some experts had long been predicting disaster of one sort or another. And yet, at the start of the year, few would have believed that the nation’s households would soon require the largest economic stimulus in our history, let alone that our borders would be effectively closed for months on end. Or that scarce toilet paper would lead to supermarket brawls.
