In August, the Prime Minister compared Australia’s path out of lockdown to ‘that movie in The Croods — people wanted to stay in the cave … We can’t stay in the cave’. To Western Australians, the Prime Minister’s urging to open up the borders fell on deaf ears. Because of its border measures, the state’s day-to-day life was largely unaffected by the outbreaks impacting the eastern states.
