Setting the Standard

The Independent Review into Commonwealth Parliamentary Workplaces was led by Sex Discrimination Commissioner Kate Jenkins. The report, titled Set the Standard, found that 51 per cent of all people currently employed in a Commonwealth parliamentary workplace had experienced ‘at least one incident of bullying, sexual harassment or actual or attempted sexual assault’. It made 28 recommendations, including targets for gender balance and a code of conduct for parliamentarians and staff.
