Matt Golding must be a Star Wars fan. His adaptation of the famous ‘opening crawl’ of this sci-fi series of movies links the evil galactic empire with the British monarchy. The coronation of Charles III in May 2023 was touted as a show of vitality from the royal family, which has often been beset by scandals and division. However, Golding labels the monarchy ‘irrelevant’ in these modern times.
