John Farmer was a political cartoonist for the Sunday Tasmanian and the Hobart Mercury, and at one time was the Mercury's longest-serving cartoonist. He drew his first cartoon in 1985, and now 'draws from home'. In 2023 he won cartoon of the year at the 32nd annual Rotary Cartoon Awards.
