Food for Thought

Four Greek men stand outside the Acropolis next to a large scroll. Above the men is the text, 'The invention of democracy...' A man says, 'All it needs now is some kind of meat product wrapped in a slice of bread...'

Katauskas on the ‘meat product wrapped in bread’ is fabulous for historical reasons. Athenian sausage sellers were all over the Acropolis and Areopagus when the Ekklesia [assembly of citizens] was in session – Aristophanes even included one (Agoracritus) in his play The Knights. Awesome to think it has made its way back via Australia.
