The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, aimed at averting human interference in the world’s climate, was adopted in 1992. Costa A illustrates the lack of action taken to limit global warming since then, and registers frustration at those claiming we need to move more slowly to reduce our fossil fuel usage. After a record-breaking June and July, August 2023 was the world’s second-ever hottest month since global average temperature records began.
