Lismore Flood, Photo Ops Advance Team

A van drives past flood-affected houses and residents scouting for photo-op locations, none are suitable. One house has a climate placard, one resident wears a Hawaiian shirt, another holds 'some sort of hose'.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison visited flood-affected Lismore, in northern New South Wales, in March 2022. While there, he declared the floods to be a national emergency, and observed that natural disasters were making Australia a harder country in which to live. It did little to assuage residents’ anger, and protestors lined the streets outside Morrison’s press conference, holding signs demanding climate action.
