David Pope
David Pope grew up in Canberra and began drawing cartoons for the alternative press in the 1980s. He worked as a freelance cartoonist and illustrator for many years, including at The Sun-Herald in Sydney, before joining The Canberra Times as its editorial cartoonist in 2008. Pope has illustrated three books on Australian English for the National Museum of Australia, and a series of posters of regional towns to raise money for bushfire recovery via the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.
